A successful driver recruiter will collaborate with department managers on a regular basis and proactively identify future hiring needs. The driver recruiter should also be able to attract drivers using various sources, like social media networks and employee referrals. Our ideal recruiter holds an academic HR background combined with work experience in screening, interviewing and assessing candidates.

Ultimately, the responsibilities of the driver recruiter are to ensure our company attracts, hires and retains the best drivers, and other staff employees, while growing a strong driver pipeline.

The driver recruiter will be visiting schools and participating in job fairs, and be involved in community events.

Responsibilities:

  • Recruit new and inexperienced drivers for our training program
  • Recruit experienced drivers for our team fleet
  • Answer incoming recruiting calls and enter all applicant information into database
  • Conduct phone, video and in person interviews of qualified driver candidates
  • Respond with urgency to and act on various leads by phone, text, email, social media and/or in person.
  • Provide applicants with information regarding company programs, tuition, pay and benefits
  • Explain benefits, equipment, and other company policies and procedures and expectations
  • Work with third party reporting agencies and background investigation to obtain applicant information and determine suitability against company and Department of Transportation qualifications ensuring accuracy and suitability
  • Schedule driver for orientation and/or driver training program
  • Complete paperwork as required by company policy and DOT requirements for applicants
  • Complete travel requests for applicants that are invited to attend orientation
  • Maintain awareness of company, department and DOT policies and procedures regarding the qualification of drivers (inexperienced and experienced)
  • Conduct regular follow-up with leadership to determine the effectiveness of the recruiting process.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Base Rate plus bonus (based on experience)

Schedule:

  • 8-hour shift
  • 10am to 7pm (hour break)
  • Monday thru Friday
  • Weekend/evening availability
