The truck driver training program at Classic Carriers is a win-win for those looking to start a career in truck driving while also keeping our driver pool full.

What is the driver training program at Classic Carriers?
The best way to become a truck driver in Ohio.

The program begins with the four to five week truck driving course at the Apollo Career Center to earn a CDL. Tuition is fully paid by Classic Carriers, along with attendees receiving a $250 weekly incentive.

After graduating and earning a CDL, the new driver begins an eight-week paid driver training program at Classic Carriers. The new driver is paired with a Classic Carriers’ driver trainer who has been handpicked by our safety department. 

After eight weeks, the new driver comes on board as a solo company driver.

Advice to New Truck Drivers

Our training program benefits:

  • Earn money while you learn: Tuition fully paid, along with a $250 weekly incentive.
  • Earn money while you train behind the wheel: $700 per week through the entire training.
  • Guaranteed truck driving job after completion with pay packages of $.51 – $.61 cpm.
  • Paired with an experienced mentor to show you the ropes and answer questions.

Driver Training Program Qualifications

  • Must be at least 23 years old
  • Good Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • No DUIs in the last seven years
  • No failed drug tests
  • No felonies
  • Must have work references
  • Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP)
