For many people, a career as a truck driver is filled with unlimited opportunities and the freedom to work outside the office. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, truck driving will increase nearly 4 percent over the next decade, resulting in almost 100,000 new jobs. 

Classic Carriers is proud to call Darke County home, so we were thrilled when asked to host an educator tour at our facility. Teaming with WorkForce Specialist Tamala Marley and Careers Connection Coordinator Todd Schilling from the Darke County Economic Development Council, we set out to teach local educators about a modern trucking company.

Imagine a cavernous hangar of towering racks, full pallets and a dock temperature in the upper 30s F. That’s the non-freezer section of Classic Warehousing’s 2.35 million cubic feet of cold storage warehousing space.

Meet Bev Wombolt, IT Project Manager at Classic Carriers. Even though she has only been with Classic Carriers for a little over a year, her family has been part of the organization for decades. 

Classic Carriers is based in Versailles, conveniently located in west central Ohio near Greenville and Dayton. Although Versailles is home to only about 2,700 people, the village has many opportunities for those who live and work here, providing an array of things to do.
